This past weekend passed quite uneventfully, and I didn't even end up taking the kids swimming.
Partner arrived home earlier than expected and was home by 8 am this morning, so we decided , rather than vague schlepping about, on a trip up to Cattai National Park, near Windsor, for a picnic lunch and bit of a stroll around.
Cattai NP sits right on the Hawkesbury, and you would think it would make for a peaceful setting, and initially it does ... until the jet-skiers and water-skiers pass by. Again and again and again. Partner and I are not big on that kind of "How's the serenity?" noise - we much prefer actual peace and quiet. So at first we were commenting on what a great spot it would be to camp, but after half an hour or so decided it was best to eat, play and leave:
I always love a visit to Windsor markets because of the Booze Beads. This is jewellery made of recycled wine and beer bottles and they are really quite beautiful. And very reasonably priced, too. I will confess that I've never bought one of her pieces, but this is just because I need to be alone when I'm buying things like this - not with my kids all of whom are clamouring for my attention because it's suddenly not on them. I had a quick squizz at some bracelets Jolanda had on display today (which were variations on a theme of brown, green, blue and silver wire) and they were $29. I'm secretly hoping Santa will be bringing me one this year.
